Some say that golf just spoils a good walk, however judging by the third Helen Straker Charity Golf Day at Castle Combe on Thursday that simply cannot be true! 22 teams teed-off at midday, as the sun shone on the glorious Manor House Golf Club, for a most enjoyable afternoon’s golf; followed by a fine dinner and a charity auction. The event, which was organised in aid of the RUH Forever Friends and Dorothy House, was judged a great success. The golf was won by ‘Team Jelf’ and auctioneer Charlie Doel had more than a handful of generous lots to offer ranging from a fine Vintage Cognac to helicopter and glider flights over the Wiltshire countryside. MD Antony Bulley comments ‘we were delighted to offer our support and assistance again at what has become an annual event to look forward to.’
